Where to have beautiful First Communion photos taken? At Castle Erenstein in Kerkrade, of course!

I had the pleasure of photographing this First Communion reportage a while ago, around the reservoir in Kerkrade. Castle Erenstein, a beautiful wedding venue, is located by this water.

The communicant came to the photoshoot location with her mother, grandmother, and sister. She was wearing her adorable First Communion dress and had specially visited the hairdresser for the Communion photoshoot. Her mother had also brought a bunch of balloons and a basket.

Now that the First Communion has passed (it took place on Ascension Day), I was allowed by the mother to publish the photos online. As a photographer, I'm always delighted with such permission, as satisfied customers often lead to new customers. Due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), I now need to personally ask all customers for permission again, and unfortunately, many people decline, which is why I have fewer photos online.

The girl enjoyed posing, and when her mother briefly stepped away, she surprised her by posing with her sister, hugging each other for a photo. When her mother returned, we took another photo together on a charming bridge. After that, we strolled to the beautifully landscaped garden at the back of Castle Erenstein, where I captured some spontaneous First Communion photos while she skipped around. Later, she also posed with her sister (after lifting her up first) as they released the pink bunch of balloons.

An hour goes by quickly, and so we concluded this First Communion reportage, saying goodbye to each other. I then headed home to start working on editing the First Communion reportage.
